Session Times and Dates:
For outdoor sessions, we schedule clients to maximize the best light of the day. In order to get the best light possible, most sessions are shot about one hour after sunrise or one hour before sunset. These start times may be different based on the session type, location, and time of year. For studio sessions shot indoors, these can be taken at any time during the day. Babies and small children generally tend to do best in the morning hours or early afternoon after naps. Sessions can be scheduled 7 days a week, but there is an additional weekend fee for all Saturday and Sunday sessions.
How Long Will My Session Last?
Sessions last approximately 45-60 minutes for the average session but it may be longer or shorter depending on the type of session and ages of those photographed. Newborn sessions generally last anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours and most other baby sessions last 30-45 minutes.
Location Options?
There are many great locations in the Thomasville area for your portraits. Some examples of popular locations include:
- Cherokee Lake (big trees, Spanish moss, bridges, the rose garden, a gazebo, and playground)- McIntyre Park (trees, small bridges, rocks and sometimes a small stream)
- All Saints Church (wrought iron gates, greenery-covered walls, and a gazebo). Please note that All Saints has asked for photographers to not shoot inside the gated fountain area out of respect for those buried there so we do abide by that request as well as not photograph there during service times.
- Pebble Hill Plantation is another popular location. Please note that they charge a $40 photographer fee and $10/adult, $5/child ages 2-6th grade) entrance fee
- Downtown Thomasville is a great location to shoot in and it allows us to capture a little piece of Thomasville in your portraits.
- Your child's school (many graduates want to feature their school in their graduation images)
- Your home or maybe a piece of land you have access to or can borrow from a friend may be the best solution.
- Wherever your imagination leads... I have taken portraits at local airports, plantations, businesses, dirt roads, cotton fields, etc. As long as we have permission to take portraits there, then I am excited about capturing a new and unique location.

Once your session is booked and paid for, Ursula will give you access to a guide of what to wear, what to expect, and everything else you need to know about your upcoming session. Clothing consultations via the phone or in person before your session are an option to help you pick out the clothing options that will photograph the best.
Turn Around Time
Most sessions are edited within one to two weeks. Sessions in the summer and winter are usually turned around much quicker and the fall and spring are a busier season so the turnaround time is a little bit longer.
Ursula Page Photography is available to photograph babies, children, families, seniors, events, corporate and commercial projects, engagements, and other various events. I do not photograph weddings or boudoir sessions.
